Project/Process

The Puppet is a human scale marionette, woven of reeds under a paper skin. Its body is documented in a portfolio of twenty-one Marionettomical Gravures, arranged in five suites, according to the modules of the marionette’s anatomy; The Head, Upper Extremities, Thorax, Pelvic Studies, and Belower Extremities.

Along the way, each module became the catalyst for a Percussive Sound arrangement, which imagines anatomy as sonic structure through an array of traditional and experimental instrumentation, including the sculptural objects themselves and digital sonification of their images obtained via data bending.
